If you have more than one Zopa product and are worried about missing payments, or have already fallen behind, the best first step is to understand your budget.
Using this online tool, you can see what disposable income you have left after priority bills and life expenses. Once you’ve filled in your details, we’ll contact you so we can work together to find a personalised solution.
The options available to you
For a more in-depth breakdown of the options available if you’re struggling with loan and credit card repayments, check out this FAQ.
If you have car finance, there’s additional information here.
Prioritising your debts
If you’re missing payments due to a short term issue, you could consider temporarily focusing on paying any debts that are closer to defaulting to avoid the impact this could have on your credit file. Then, once everything is back to normal, you can return to making all of your normal repayments.
But, if you don’t feel you’ll be able to get back on track soon, you may need to consider prioritising some debts over others. For example, if you have finance for a car you need to get to work, you may want to focus on keeping up the repayments there even if that were to mean defaulting on another agreement.
Others who can help
There are organisations that specialise in providing free, impartial debt advice. These could be particularly useful if you think you’re facing longer term problems. Contacting them won’t impact your credit score. You can find out more here.
Free impartial debt advice is on hand
We’re not able to provide debt advice, but there are others who can. Organisations, such as PayPlan, give free, impartial and confidential advice and contacting them won’t impact your credit score.
