We’re here to help if you need to dispute a Direct Debit transaction. Here’s everything you need to know.
If you don’t recognise the Direct Debit at all
Please double-check the merchant's name. Some merchants have a name that they operate under publicly which is different to the name which will show up in your transactions – if you search online for the name from your transaction list, you might find it belongs to a company you have a Direct Debit with.
If you still don’t recognise the merchant, you can cancel all future Direct Debits to them in the Zopa app. Here’s how.
To raise a dispute, please give us a call. So that we can give you the support you need, please have these details ready:
The date of the transaction or transactions.
How much you were charged.
If you recognise the merchant, but have been charged the wrong amount
Before contacting Zopa, you should get in touch with the merchant who has taken the Direct Debit. In most cases, you’ll be able to get the issue sorted faster by speaking to them directly.
If you’ve haven’t been able to resolve things with the merchant, please give us a call. So that we can give you the support you need, please have these details ready:
The date of the transaction or transactions.
How much you were charged.
If you recognise the merchant, but haven’t got what you paid for
This is something you'll need to raise directly with the merchant. We’re not able to help with cases in which you’re unsatisfied with the product or service you’ve paid for.
