There are no monthly fees on the Zopa account, but there may be a small account opening fee. We'll let you know if this is the case before you open an account. What’s more, you can spend using your debit card fee-free from wherever you are in the world.
The only other fee that could apply to your account is a 2% charge on non-UK cash withdrawals over £200 within a rolling 30-day period.
That’s a bit of a mouthful, so here’s an example. If you withdraw the equivalent of £200 on July 20th while abroad and then another £100 on August 7th, you’d be charged a 2% fee on the amount that's over £200. In this case, the fee would be 2% applied to £100, which is £2.
Please note, we’re not currently applying the fee on withdrawals. We’ll let you know by email or in the app once it’s introduced.
How rolling limits work
The withdrawal fee is calculated based on your withdrawals over a period of 30 days. Your limit resets 30 days after each transaction, not at a fixed time each month.
If we were ever to add a new fee, we’ll give you at least 60 days' notice.
