There are a few reasons this might happen:

  • If it’s your first in-store spend using your Zopa debit card, you’ll need to enter your PIN. After this, contactless payments will be enabled.

  • After a total of £300 in cumulative contactless payments, or after every 5 contactless payments you make, you’ll be asked to enter your PIN.

  • Contactless payment transactions are capped at £100, so for any spends over that amount, you’ll need to enter your PIN.

  • You may not have enough funds available in your account to cover the transaction.
