How do ISA transfers work for Fixed Term ISAs?
scheduleUpdated 14 days ago
Are there any charges when transferring an ISA in or out of Zopa?
ISA transfers in:
We don't charge any fees for transfers into the Zopa Smart ISA, but you'll need to check with your current provider whether they do.
ISA transfers out:
If you want to transfer your Smart ISA to a new provider, but have a Fixed Term ISA pot that hasn't come to the end of the fixed term, you'll need to pay an interest charge.
Note: We don't allow partial transfers, so if you choose to transfer out, you'll need to move the full amount in one go. This means, if you have Access ISA pots as well as Fixed Term ISA pots, you'll need to break the term on your Fixed Term ISA pots and pay an interest charge before transferring out – you can't just transfer your Access ISA pots.
Can I transfer a fixed term ISA into my Zopa Smart ISA before the term has ended?
Yes, when requesting the transfer, you have the option to ask us to carry out the transfer as soon as possible.
If you choose this option, you'll need to confirm that you're happy to pay any fees that may be charged by your current provider to end your fixed term early. Please check what fees you'll be charged with your current provider first.
I want to transfer my Fixed Term ISA to Zopa when the term ends, can I give transfer instructions before then?
Yes, if your Fixed Term ISA is due to complete within the next 3 months, you can request a transfer via the Zopa app. We won't start processing it until the completion date you provide has passed.
